Clutter is a collection of things in your home that take up space, and are not used or looked at for more than 6 months.

This method will not only help you reclaim your space, but will also help you stay organized for a long time.  It is not a quick process and can be overwhelming at times.  However, once you are done, you will feel invigorated and want to simplify your life.

Clutter can be as small as a piece of paper or as big as household furniture.  Sometimes the clutter is so out of control, it takes over your life, causes stress and makes you feel overwhelmed.  At this point, you can hire a professional organizer to help you organize or you can do it yourself.  If you plan to do it yourself, then we recom...

Organizing the garage is a big job, especially when there are a lot of stuff in there.  It is best to hire professional organizers to do the job.  It can get overwhelming.  However, if you are determined to do it yourself, we suggest asking a friend or two to help you with this project. Get it done in one or two days, best is over the weekend.

Before you start, look for a staging area for you to put your stuff.  The best staging area for this project is the driveway.  Also, you may want to gather these items to help you along the way: labels, marker, trash...

I was brought up on hand-me-downs,  so I naturally accept used clothes that my relatives and friends gave me.  I was proud to wear hand-me-downs, especially the good quality ones. It was imbedded in my upbringing to never reject someone else's clutter.  It would be inconsiderate and unkind of me to say no to someone that, out of several billions of people on this earth, chose to pass their stuff on to me.  How dare I reject them?  They knew I would be able to use one or two pieces of clothing out of the 5 bags they gave me. And of course, I could always donate or give the clothes to someone else if I did not want them.  As a result, I was left with their clutter and my house was even more disorganized than before.

Before I had kids, I didn't...
